Brief
In this project, the asymmetric design of the "Enneper Surface" is carried out from a mathematical point of view, and the spatial variability of its space is realized by utilizing the space device building on site.
Geometrically, the use of asymmetric design responds to the symmetry in modernism, and from a manufacturing point of view, it expresses the impact of non-standard digital manufacturing on modernist assembly-line standards.
Under the current technology and design background, we have raised the challenge of modernism and criticism, and at the same time completed the exploration of the differences and aesthetics of the space text.
Enneper's surface is a well-known minimal surface. Though it has a fairly uncomplicated parameterization (first equations above), it is somewhat hard to visualize because of its self-intersections.·
